Patrol Group

  • We strongly advocate against any conduct that would endanger the lives of members of this forum
  • We strongly advice that members join their respective CPF’s to receive the necessary training to remain safe at all times
  • We strongly advise that members do not rush to scenes
  • We advise that members take instructions from experienced CPF members and SAPS members on the group whenever there is a situation
  • Please report any crime immediately to increase our chances to find and arrest (if it is a Schedule 1 offence) the criminals
  • Keep your Zello on always.
  • When in need – any time of the day or night – call for help on Zello by clearly and slowly stating your address and what the problem is.
  • If the criminals are armed or shots have been fired by them please warn members accordingly.
  • It’s not a chat channel.
  • No politics, religion, racial or sexist remarks may be made on this channel.
  • Please do not accept friend requests from people you don’t know as it will give them access to information on your profile
  • If we receive complaints of harassment by any member, you will be removed from this group.
  • Let’s at all times respect each other and no arguments will be allowed on air.
  • Please report any invitation you receive from other people (A transgression of this safety rule will result in being blocked immediately )
  • This group is to report crime in progress, (busy happening) or which has already happened.
  • It is also to report suspicious vehicles, persons and activities.
  • Keep conversations and reports as short and to the point where possible.
  • Do not interrupt when community members are busy talking, in particular when there is any action or activity, unless you can assist
  • From 21:00 till 06:00 there is radio silence. . This is to make sure emergency calls can be transmitted freely.
  • Only report incidents where help is required, like crime in progress, people in your yard or house, people following you and medical emergencies
  • The aforementioned is not the only events that can be reported after 21:00, the key is to use discretion and not call in minor issues that can be reported between 06:00 and 21:00.
  • If a member has reported an incident and another member have already confirmed receipt of the report, please do not also confirm that you have received the report. (It unnecessarily creates traffic on air, blocking communication.)
  • Do not test your radio on the channel. (If you want to test your radio, please make use of your echo contact.)
  • To combat crime effectively it is crucial that as many members as possible respond to a cry for help.
  • We therefore ask that if you are in the vicinity that you will respond, to assist but also as part of mass visibility which will send a strong message to criminals that we are organised and prepared to fight crime. This is the only sure way to discourage criminals to commit crime in our area.
  • Fast and accurate information is another key to successfully mobilise the community and security forces when a crime has just been committed.
  • Keep your eyes and ears open at all times and look out for crime and criminals
  • Lastly, the only effective way to combat crime is to have as much as possible eyes and ears.
  • It is therefore important to report all crime you became aware off
  • At times the channel will be silent. This could be good or bad news. Good news because there is no crime to report, bad news because we don’t know crime is happening. Information is the key in combating crime.
  • Don’t post on FB when you see something suspicious. Call on Zello. Use the radio, but for crime only.
