On January 26, 1966, three siblings who resided in the suburbs of Adelaide, Australia, disappeared without a trace. 9-year-old Jane Beaumont and her younger sisters, 7-year-old Arnna and 4-year-old Grant left their home in the morning and hopped on a bus for what should have been a five-minute ride to Glenelg Beach. They were to return home by 2 PM, and when they didn’t, their parents called authorities. Witnesses claimed to have spotted the girls at the beach playing with a tall blonde man. The children appeared to be enjoying themselves. The oldest sibling, Jane, was also seen purchasing snacks with money she didn’t have when she left the house that day. A mail carrier who was well-acquainted with the Beaumont family saw the kids walking in the general direction of their home hours later, and even greeted him. This was the last confirmed sighting of them. Nearly 50 years later, no one knows what happened to the Beaumont girls, or who the tall blonde man they were seen with was.
